A knockout, day by day
Sheets down on day one. Fire lit at the end.
A full fireplace knockout takes two to three days. Gareth tells you how long your job will take on the survey.
Day one The mucky bit
- Dust sheets everywhere. Furniture moved, the room sealed off.
- The old fireplace is knocked out and the opening checked.
- Cement boarded, and plastered where it’s needed.
Day two or three The good bit
- The slate hearth goes down and the stove is set in place.
- Everything connected and checked, ready to be signed off with building regs.
First burn done with you. Gareth lights it, shows you the air controls, and leaves you with a warm room and no mess.
