Questions

Asked every week.

Do I need a working chimney?
No. If your chimney's sound we'll sweep and test it; if it isn't — or you don't have one — a twin-wall flue liner (£595) sorts it. The survey tells us which, for free.
Can I fit a log burner in a smoke control area?
Yes — every stove we fit is DEFRA-exempt, which means it's approved for use in smoke control areas across the UK when burning dry wood.
How long does installation actually take?
Two days for the Classic and the Slate. Day one is the strip-out, flue and plastering; day two is the hearth, tiling, mantel and your first burn. The Showpiece can run to three, because the stone surround is built by hand in your room.
Is the paperwork handled?
Yes — your install is notified to building control and you get a CO alarm fitted and a certificate for your records, which is what your home insurer will ask for. [Gareth: tell us which scheme you register under and we’ll name it here.]
What does the £250 deposit actually do?
It locks a fitting date in the diary and comes straight off your final balance. Fully refundable up to 14 days before your date, no questions.
What if you find a problem mid-job?
The price we quote after survey is the price you pay. If we open up the chimney breast and find a surprise, fixing it is on us — that's what the survey is for.
